A wrapped vehicle is one of the most cost-effective forms of advertising a local business can run. There is no recurring monthly cost, no algorithm deciding who sees it, and no ad budget required once the install is done. It drives through your market every day and puts your brand in front of the people who live and work there.
This post covers what we actually use on commercial jobs, why the material spec matters, and what separates a professional installation from one that starts peeling at the corners six months in.
The Material Behind Most Commercial Vehicle Wraps at AZ Rag
The majority of our commercial vehicle wraps are installed with 3M IJ175cv3 cast film, finished with 3M 8518 gloss overlaminate.
Cast film is the correct choice for vehicles. It is thinner and more conformable than calendered film, which means it lays down properly over body lines, rivets, curves, and door edges without lifting or wrinkling over time. The 3M IJ175cv3 is specifically engineered for commercial graphics applications. It holds color accuracy well under prolonged sun exposure and is designed to be applied and removed cleanly when the time comes.
The 8518 overlaminate seals the printed surface, adds scratch resistance, and extends the life of the graphics on a vehicle that gets used hard every day. On a work truck or service van, that matters.
If a customer specifies a different material or finish, whether matte, satin, or a different manufacturer entirely, we accommodate that. But for standard commercial work, this is the spec that performs.
What 3M Preferred Installer Status Actually Means
AZ Rag is a 3M Preferred Installer through the United Application Standards Group (UASG). That designation is not self-reported. It means our installation team has been evaluated against 3M’s own standards for surface preparation, film handling, application technique, and edge finishing.
For a business owner commissioning a commercial wrap, this matters for one reason: consistency. A fleet of vehicles wrapped by a certified shop looks and performs the same way across every vehicle, every time.
You can read more about why installer certification matters for your commercial project on our certified installer page.

Commercial Vehicle Wraps We Have Installed
The vehicles shown here represent a cross-section of the commercial work that comes through our shop. HVAC companies, beverage brands, pest control operators, plumbing contractors, and food businesses each came to us with different vehicles, different branding, and different goals. The material and process behind each one is consistent.
A commercial wrap works the same way regardless of industry. It puts your name, number, and brand identity in front of your local market every time that vehicle moves.
