We printed the spot graphics on 3M IJ175cv3 cast film with 3M 8518 gloss overlaminate. IJ175cv3 is a premium cast vinyl with strong conformability and long-term dimensional stability. It holds its shape and adhesion over years of service vehicle use. The 8518 overlaminate protects the printed graphic from UV exposure and road wear, keeping the colors accurate through daily commercial use.
The installation was completed with a fast turnaround. Mold Doctors USA had their truck back in service quickly, with no extended downtime pulling a vehicle out of rotation.
Why the Material Still Matters on a Spot Installation
Some shops cut corners on spot graphics by using lower-grade calendered films. Calendered vinyl is stiffer, more prone to edge lifting, and less durable in outdoor commercial applications. On a service vehicle that runs daily, the difference shows up within a year.
We use the same cast film on spot graphics that we use on full wraps because the vehicle is operating in the same environment regardless of how much surface is covered. A graphic that peels or fades reflects on the business it represents.
