The Shelby GT350 Heritage Edition is a purpose-specific build. Ford created it to honor the original 1965 GT350 race cars — Oxford White paint, Guardsman Blue racing stripes, and a set of side stripes with GT350 lettering that tie directly back to that lineage. When the stripes on this one needed to come off and go back on correctly, the owner brought it to AZ Rag.
This isn’t a job where close is good enough. On a Heritage Edition, the stripes are the point.
The Job
The original stripes were removed and replaced with the Ford OEM stripe kit, the same package the car left the factory with. Twin racing stripes run the full length of the hood, over the roof, and down the decklid in Guardsman Blue. The Heritage side stripes with the GT350 badge graphic sit on the lower rocker panels exactly as they were designed to.
Stripe work on a car like this lives or dies on alignment. The center stripe pair has to be split evenly on the hood centerline and carry that line cleanly over the cowl, roof, and rear without drifting. Any deviation shows immediately on a white car with dark stripes, there’s no hiding it.
The side stripe placement has to account for the GT350’s body line and rocker profile so the GT350 lettering sits at the correct angle and height on both sides. These aren’t flat surfaces, and the film has to lay down without bridging or lifting on the character lines.

A GT350 Heritage Edition is not a daily driver. It’s a car the owner chose specifically for what it represents — the connection to Shelby’s original racing program, the attention to detail, the spec that Ford got right from the factory. Replacing the stripes on a car like this means understanding what the car is supposed to look like and executing to that standard.
