Accelerate Yellow is not a color you put on a car you want to hide. The C8 Corvette is already a statement. The goal with this build was to deepen that statement while adding a layer of protection to the two panels that take the most abuse: the roof and the hood. What the Owner Wanted
The request was specific: a carbon fiber look on the roof and hood without touching the factory paint and without sacrificing durability. A vinyl overlay would have solved the aesthetic problem but left the paint exposed. A traditional clear PPF would have protected the paint but added nothing visually. The Installation
Surface preparation is the foundation of any PPF job. Before the film goes down, every panel gets a full decontamination wash, a clay bar treatment, and an inspection pass. Any existing surface defects need to be addressed before they get locked under film. On a car like this, arriving with clean paint is half the job.
The roof and hood panels were cut to spec and applied without seams where the design did not call for them. The gloss topcoat was inspected under direct light for any lifting, bubbling, or edge inconsistencies before the car left the shop.
