If you own a sixth generation Ford Bronco and you’re thinking about a custom color, a blacked-out look, or added paint protection, a vinyl wrap is the right move. This guide covers what a Bronco wrap actually costs, which finishes hold up best on this vehicle, what makes it more complex to wrap than a standard truck or SUV, and how the process works at AZ Rag in Knoxville, Tennessee.
What Does It Cost to Wrap a Sixth Gen Ford Bronco?
A full vinyl wrap on a sixth gen Ford Bronco typically runs between $4,000 and $7,000 depending on the trim, the number of panels included, the film you choose, and the finish complexity.
Here’s how the ranges break down:
- Cast vinyl color change (standard finishes): $4,000–$5,500
- Premium or specialty finishes (matte, satin, color flip, textured): $5,500–$7,000
- Paint protection film (PPF) full wrap: $5,500–$8,000+
The Bronco’s price range reflects its complexity. The removable hardtop panels, prominent fender flares, and aggressive body lines add surface area and install time compared to a typical SUV. Two-door and four-door builds also differ in scope — four-door Broncos have more total surface to cover.
Film quality drives longevity. A cast vinyl film like 3M 2080 conforms properly to the Bronco’s curves and textured surfaces and holds up for 5–7 years. Cheaper calendared film won’t conform the same way and won’t last. We don’t offer it.
Popular Finishes for the Sixth Gen Bronco
The Bronco attracts a different buyer than a Tesla — and the finish requests reflect that.
Matte black. The most popular finish on the Bronco. It leans into the aggressive, utilitarian character of the vehicle and works especially well on lighter factory colors. Matte films require proper maintenance. No automatic car washes. They hold up well with the right care.
Satin black. Slightly more refined than flat matte. Works well if you want the dark look without committing fully to flat. Pairs well with the Bronco’s OEM badging and trim options.
Gloss black. High impact on lighter factory colors. More forgiving to maintain than matte.
Military / tactical finishes. Olive drab, flat earth tones, and subdued greens get consistent requests on the Bronco. The vehicle’s heritage supports that direction well and there are cast vinyl options in the right tones.
Two-tone wraps. The Bronco’s body-on-frame construction and visible panel breaks make two-tone wraps a natural fit. A common approach is wrapping the hardtop a contrasting color while leaving the body panels in a different finish. Done well, it looks intentional and factory-quality.
Stealth PPF. Paint protection film on the hood, front bumper, fender flares, and rocker panels. The Bronco goes places other vehicles don’t — trail debris, rock chips, and brush contact are real concerns. Front-end and rocker panel PPF is a practical choice even without a full-car install.
Why the Bronco Is More Complex to Wrap
The sixth gen Bronco is one of the more demanding vehicles in the wrap shop, and the complexity is worth understanding before you book.
The removable hardtop panels are the most distinctive challenge. The panels themselves aren’t difficult to wrap — it’s the edge work and the way those panels interface with the body when reinstalled. If the wrap isn’t cut and finished correctly at every panel edge, you’ll see lifting or peeling the first time the top comes off and goes back on.
The fender flares are large, textured, and prominent. Whether you’re wrapping over them or working around them, they demand precision. Film has to conform to the texture without lifting at the edges or wrinkling at the transitions.
The body lines on the Bronco are sharp and deliberate. That’s part of what makes it visually interesting, but it also means the film has to follow those lines without bridging over them. Bridging leads to lifting over time.
The door surrounds and seams on the four-door are additional checkpoints. On a two-tone or color flip, alignment across every door gap has to be consistent.
None of this makes the Bronco a bad candidate for a wrap. It makes it a job that rewards doing right.
How Long Does a Sixth Gen Bronco Wrap Last?
A properly installed cast vinyl wrap on a Bronco will last 5–7 years with reasonable care. 3M 2080 is rated at that range under normal driving conditions.
Off-road use does put more stress on a wrap than daily highway driving. Rock chips, brush contact, and pressure washing can all accelerate wear at edges and exposed areas. For Broncos that see real trail use, targeted PPF on the highest-impact areas is worth considering alongside or instead of a full color-change wrap.
With proper care (hand washing or touchless washes, regular application of a vinyl-safe detail spray), the film holds up well. See our full
wrap care guide for maintenance tips.
